Description
Depression is the appropriate response to the empty hole left in our lives after loss. We withdraw from life and exist in a fog of pointless sadness. Depression after a loss is natural. When it settles in your soul, the realization that your loved one is not coming back feels like being in a dark room that you will never escape.
While existing in depression we watch from the darkness, while others live in the light. In this painting I’ve shown a window of leading out to the light. A wind of change has blown in a seed of wisdom, a seed from the loss, the death you have experienced. This seed is promise of the possibility of living and being able to function once more. The tally marks are the being blown away as well . . . leaving a possible future.
